The zoning official told the board that the economic development committee compiled recommended code changes and will present findings to the City Commission on October 22. The committee identified items in the land‑development code — including separation distances and lists of uses under commercial zones — that the official said merit review.
The planner also noted that a Venetian Isles site plan has been submitted for review and that the board should be primed to consider related elevation and parking requirements as part of upcoming code updates. "They are presenting our findings and recommendations to the city commission on the October 22," the planner said. Staff asked the board to review the committee's report and prepare questions ahead of the commission presentation.
