Council approves $167,813.70 fire-station pay application after contested recusal request

City Attorney Richard Hansen advised that payments are made to contractors and that Goede’s employment status with the city does not, under the law, create a conflict of interest in this matter. The motion to request recusal failed on a 1-4 vote, with Dunlap in favor and the other four members opposed.
Following that ruling, Councilmember Corey Tanner moved to approve Pay Application #19 in the amount of $167,813.70 for work completed on the Fire Station project, seconded by Councilmember Michelle Lund. The motion passed 4-1; Councilmember Dunlap voted against the payment. The minutes record the amount approved and the roll-call split.
