County amends subdivision rules so amended final plats can be processed administratively

Community development staff proposed an amendment to Section 7.5 of the subdivision regulations to allow amended final plats to be processed administratively instead of routinely going to the planning commission and the Board of County Commissioners. Chris Manguso explained the change would streamline a process that typically results in limited, routine conditions (taxes paid, no lienholders) and could reduce applicant wait times from several weeks to about two weeks.

Legal counsel said the administrative route is common in other Colorado counties and raised no legal concerns; the proposed change also includes modifying the commissioner's certificate on plats so the county manager may sign. Commissioners discussed safeguards for utility easements and managers' oversight. The board approved the amendment and the revised certificate language for manager signature.
