Committee amends access-control language and forwards security policy to full board

The USDB committee adopted edits to draft policy 2.166 (access control and classroom security)—removing 'exactly' and replacing it with 'no later than'—and approved the draft on first reading to forward to the full State Board for final approval.

The USDB committee reviewed draft policy 2.166, introduced by Dwight Overgaard, which aligns access-control practices with Utah administrative code (Rr 698-13). Member Cindy Davis proposed deleting the word “exactly” from section 4.2 and replacing it with “no later than” to make compliance monitoring feasible.
