Commissioners approve routine contracts, certifications and proclamations; accept equipment donation

At its regular session, the Uvalde County Commissioners Court approved several routine administrative items and proclamations.
Alice Chapman presented the five-year Xerox copier renewal for the Valley County Justice Center and said the contract fits within the justice-center budget; the court approved the renewal. Chapman also reported that 169 employees completed the Texas Association of Counties cybersecurity training and recommended the clerk file certificates; the court accepted the certificates.
The court adopted a resolution reaffirming civil-rights compliance for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs, with Carl reporting that county policies (citizen participation plan, fair housing policy, code of conduct) are uploaded to the state portal. The court also proclaimed August as Fair Housing Month for Uvalde County.
Constable Max Dolfinger reported PepperBall had offered to donate one PepperBall FTC Pro to Constable Precinct 1. Dolfinger said the item’s "value of it is $734. It is a PepperBall FTC Pro," and the court approved accepting and inventorying the donation.
Rita Persson recommended keeping the optional TXDMV fee for the road-and-bridge fund at $10, "So I wanna keep it the same if possible," and the court approved collecting the fee at the existing level. The court also approved a 30-day extension to the local disaster debt repayment plan.
