LOHN ISD board approves contract to replace stadium lighting

The LOHN Independent School District board unanimously voted on June 25, 2025, to enter a contract with Techline Sports Lighting, LLC to replace the football stadium lighting system, including replacement of the field poles. Board member Bobby Pearce moved the contract approval after a discussion with representatives from Techline and Gallagher Construction Services; Stephanie Nelson seconded the motion and the board carried it unanimously. The board recorded the meeting as starting at 6:00 P.M. and adjourning at 6:27 P.M.
The approved scope includes replacement of the stadium lighting infrastructure and — pending insurance approval — replacement of the public-address and speaker systems. The board also directed administration to evaluate an additional "action lighting" product: district administration said that Kay Shackelford will investigate that option for cost and coverage and report back to the board with findings. The motion and attendant next steps were entered into the meeting minutes for the special session.
