Staff outlines progress, timelines for Prop B and other park projects

City staff reported Prop B parking lots are complete and in closeout, Garrison Park final construction plans are due by January 2025, and Bradfield Park received aerators to prevent fish kills; staff also outlined playground and restroom work across parks.
At the Oct. 16 meeting the parks staff provided a consolidated update on capital projects funded in whole or in part by Prop B and other city budgets. Tony said the Prop B parking lots are constructed and the project is in the closeout process; he told the commission that "Final construction plans will be completed by January '25" for Garrison Park after joint reviews with the Bond Oversight Committee and the council.
Staff also reported work under way at Bradfield Park: survey and foundation-setting for a restroom, and installation of aerators in Bradfield Pond to avoid fish kills during hot weather. The commission was given status updates on Stone Ridge Park playground replacement (small playground finished; the larger playground remains pending due to budget limits) and routine irrigation and drainage repairs at City Park.
