Planning commission expects draft text amendment to delegate some permitting authority to staff

The planning commission discussed an upcoming text amendment that would delegate certain permitting authority to administrative staff; members said they expect draft language and emphasized the need for required advertisement and public comment before adoption.

"For next month, we're anticipating some draft language for the delegations of authority for some of the permitting activities ' the text amendment," the Chair said. Commissioners and staff discussed that the amendment will be advertised and circulated for comment, and that delegations could reduce routine items on future agendas while preserving public-notice requirements. Staff asked to coordinate language with the town attorney and to brief the commission and Holly on details before public hearing steps.
