Commission transmits 2026 water-supply plan and advances building-code updates

The proposed local code clarifies that the first 10 feet of front yards adjacent to town right-of-way must remain sod/grass and cannot be synthetic turf in drainage areas, and adds construction-site best practices (screened fences, dust control, and restoration of damaged adjacent yards/public right-of-way).
Commissioners discussed an aesthetic update proposed by the building and zoning committee (switching required construction-site posts from green with yellow chain to white post with white chain) and asked staff to return with final wording for second reading. Both the water-supply transmittal and the building-code amendments moved forward on voice votes.
