Mr. Bruce Dopp, West Point’s Code Enforcement Officer, told the Council that the Fall Clean‑Up event held Oct. 24–25, 2025, “was again highly successful and continues to grow in participation each year.” He said multiple dumpsters at city parks often fill before the official start time and that staff will continue the program as a valued service to residents.
Dopp reported that “he issued 419 winter parking courtesy notices, the highest number to date,” and described ongoing illegal parking concerns—particularly RVs and trailers creating line‑of‑sight hazards near intersections and school zones—which staff treats as high‑priority safety issues. He also said 34 tree‑trimming courtesy notices were issued, with only three requiring formal follow‑up.
Council Member Jerry Chatterton asked about hazardous materials being placed in Fall Clean‑Up dumpsters; Dopp said the City publishes restrictions but it is difficult to fully prevent prohibited items, citing examples including propane tanks. He also noted a substantial rise in weed complaints following a wet spring and flagged developer responsibility for maintaining undeveloped lots as an area of increased enforcement work.
