Director reports steady summer programs, Summer Reading ends Aug. 6

Director Sam Walters told trustees the library's recurring programs are continuing and the Summer Reading program sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Town Pump —Keep Kids Reading— grant will conclude with its final event on Thursday, Aug. 6.
Director Sam Walters gave the Board an overview of regular programs at the Hearst Free Library, citing Garden Club, Lego Club, Coding Club, Teen Art and Card program, Girl Scouts, the High School Leadership Academy and a Virtual Reality program as ongoing activities.
Walters said the Summer Reading program—sponsored by the Friends of the Library and the Town Pump "Keep Kids Reading" grant—is going well and that the last program of the season will be held on Thursday, August 6. He also noted the Friends will staff an outreach booth at the Sidewalk Sale on Friday, August 7.
