Residents raised safety concerns about crossings for schoolchildren and transit riders; Councilmember Pearson said she will start a traffic petition and Public Works Director Hampton said some suggested crosswalk additions may not fit into current Calawah Way project plans.

During public comment, Deborah Gaydeski urged the council to address pedestrian safety for children walking to school and for transit riders dropped near Tillicum Park, and requested more crosswalks and reactivation of the traffic signal at Forks Ave and Calawah Way. She also criticized the appearance of the town entrance signs. Councilmember Pearson later said she is helping start a traffic petition and that some business owners asked her to write to WSDOT about repairs to the Hoh Bridge.
