The Lake Oswego School District board and community convened a workshop on the district's draft strategic plan and implementation roadmap. Superintendent Dr. Shealy summarized the framework, saying the plan sharpens focus on measurable student outcomes and the conditions that support learning, including health and resilience, clear expectations, attendance and aligned systems.
"We actually started this work a year ago," Dr. Shealy said, describing input from surveys and sessions with principals, staff and administrators. Mary Kay then led a table exercise where attendees prioritized two to three high‑impact initiatives and drafted one‑year milestones. Board members praised emphasis on literacy and math, professional development for staff, and health and resilience strategies; facilitators said they will fold group input into the next iteration of the plan and return to the board for further consideration.
