Giles farm easement purchase delayed until deeded ROW is provided

The Wayne County Agricultural Land Preservation Board was told on April 15 that the county cannot move forward with an easement purchase for the Giles farm until a deeded right-of-way (ROW) for the property's exclusion area is delivered to staff. Jessica Yoder informed the board that staff have not yet received the deeded ROW, a required document for the easement transaction to proceed.
Yoder also reported a driveway permit for Dean Giles had been received, which may relate to site access and final easement work. Separately, staff said the State allowed the existing ranking for the Highland farm application to stand despite a discrepancy related to ArB soil type; the State will not change the ranking. Board members indicated they will await the deeded ROW before scheduling an easement purchase or execution.
