Wayne County proclaims National Library Week as county library study nears completion
Wayne County Commissioners adopted a National Library Week proclamation and heard from Wayne Library Alliance leaders, who said the county’s seven libraries remain vital community hubs and that a comprehensive study is nearing completion.

Amanda Schmalzle, president of the Wayne Library Alliance, thanked the commissioners for the annual proclamation and said the county’s seven libraries "are more than just books," noting they serve all ages through programs, internet access and community activities. Schmalzle told the board that a comprehensive study of the county library system is nearing completion and its results will be released in the next few months.
