The Meriwether County Board approved a Confidential Document Destruction Services Agreement with River Mill Data Management to perform secure onsite destruction of county records that have met retention requirements.
County Clerk Allyson Stephens said River Mill will provide two locked 95‑gallon shredding containers at the Administration Building with onsite shredding every eight weeks; the base cost is $150 every eight weeks for two containers and additional containers would be $75 each. Stephens and County Attorney Nathan Lee explained that the vendor performs onsite shredding in a truck with an onboard shredder and will provide a Certificate of Destruction; if the truck becomes unavailable records remain secured at the County until shredding can occur. The Board approved the agreement and authorized the Chairman to sign.
