Lorain County scholarship honors Elyria student Leah DeFranco

The Lorain County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 11 accepted the County Commissioners Association of Ohio’s presentation of the Ohio County Scholarship to Elyria resident Leah DeFranco. Steve Carraway of the CCAO highlighted DeFranco’s academic honors, extracurricular involvement and volunteer service as reasons she was selected for the district award.
Leah DeFranco thanked the commissioners and described her plans to study business at the University of Kentucky. "I am a resident of Elyria...thank you for all the initiatives that you guys have launched over the past few years to better Lorain County," she said. The board posed for photos after the presentation.
