Board to publish supporting-materials checklist and research links (library, Cold Spring book)

The board discussed a supporting-materials list that would specify the documents applicants should bring for different project types (fences, additions, roof replacement). Committee member (Speaker 3) described varied applicant submissions — from detailed packages to a sketch on a napkin — and said the checklist is intended to reduce back-and-forth and incomplete applications.

Speaker 2 described a shared-drive list titled "helpful reference resources for applicants" that includes HDR guidelines, National Register material, the Putnam History Museum, Butterfield Library resources and a link to the Cold Spring book. "Here's the link to the Cold Spring book, the book," Speaker 2 said when describing resources to be linked. The board agreed the research guide could live on the village site as an indexed set of links and that staff would update the shared drive and circulate the list for review.

Members also discussed whether research guidance should be hosted on the village website or on the library's site. The consensus was to host linkable guidance on the village page and link out to the library and other partners rather than hosting all materials directly.
