The Village of Waterloo Board of Trustees voted July 21 to change an advertised maintenance employee position to a maintenance supervisor role with a wage range of $35–$40 per hour. The motion to revise the job posting, moved by Trustee Corie Sass and seconded by Chairperson Travis Harlow, passed on a roll call vote with Trustees Nikki Ewing, Bill Rotert, Harlow, Sass and David Rochford voting yes.
The revised job description adds responsibility for supervising employees, preparing budgets, producing monthly reports, basic computer knowledge and the ability to organize and maintain records. The board framed the change as a reclassification tied to increased responsibilities; minutes note the change in the job posting language and the wage range but do not list an effective hire date or the number of positions to be filled. No public testimony or alternate wage figures appear in the minutes.
