County says Strong Communities program funds exhausted; will not apply for third round

Jeremy reported that the Strong Communities program is closing out in November and that program funds administered through the county and its two municipal partners have been exhausted. "Again, that's closing out November. All of the funds have been exhausted, between our two municipal partners, one city of Amboy and the other, the city of Dixon," Jeremy said, and added the county will recapture some administrative costs but is not applying to be the applicant for round three.
Jeremy said the county communicated with municipal governments about whether they would apply directly to the third round; he noted the county will continue to offer technical experience and support but will not act as the middleman for future applications. Committee members received the update and asked no formal action be taken at this meeting.
