The Douglas County Board of Commissioners adopted two resolutions during its Sept. 16 meeting accepting small donations to sheriff-related efforts.
Resolution 25-76 accepted an anonymous donation of $300 to the Douglas County Sheriff's Honor Guard. Resolution 25-77 accepted a $100 gift given in memory of Tammy Zarbok for the Sheriff's K-9 Unit to assist with purchase of a new K-9. Both motions passed with Commissioners Tim Kalina, Charlie Meyer, Shane Schmidt and Jeff Way voting yes; Jerry L. Rapp was recorded absent.
The resolutions were read into the record and signed as part of the minutes. The text of Resolution 25-76 states in part, "BE IT RESOLVED, that the Douglas County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the donation of Three Hundred and NO/100 Dollars ($300.00) from an anonymous donor to be used for the Douglas County Sheriff's Honor Guard." The board did not discuss alternate uses for the funds at the meeting.
