Douglas County accepts donations for veterans programs and search-and-rescue

During the Oct. 21 meeting the Douglas County Board accepted several donations designated for veterans services and search-and-rescue operations. The Board accepted a $1,000 donation from the Town of LaGrand for the Search and Rescue Dive Team (Resolution 25-79). It also accepted donations for Veterans Memorial Park and veterans assistance: $100 (Resolution 25-80), $8,336 (Resolution 25-81), $1,500 (Resolution 25-82) and $500 for the Veterans Vehicle Fund (Resolution 25-83). All resolutions were adopted by unanimous vote.
The board recorded motions and votes for each acceptance. The $8,336 donation (Resolution 25-81) was accepted on behalf of the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard and is designated for Veterans Memorial Park; the $500 donation is to be applied to account 01-111.5750, the Veterans Vehicle Fund. Commissioners voting in favor in each case were Kalina, Meyer, Rapp, Schmidt and Way.
