City to host "Mapping the Future" community planning program in spring

City staff and a representative identified as Giselle presented the "Mapping the Future of Your Community" program from the Illinois Institute of Rural Affairs (IIRA)/Western University. Giselle explained the process: a steering committee meets once weekly for five consecutive weeks in the evening to identify the community's top priorities; the top three priorities are then brought to a larger public meeting and IIRA provides follow-up guidance and a check-in after about five years.
