Planning commission to pause Sport Courts construction while Master Plan is updated

At the Sept. 6 meeting the council and Planning Commission agreed to pause Sport Courts construction until the Village Master Plan framework is updated.
Planning Commissioner Mike Botelho moved to pause Sport Courts construction until the master-plan framework is completed; Tim McCarthy seconded and a roll-call vote of 5–0 approved the pause. Planning Commission Chair Julie Bonello told the council the commission plans to follow the 2005 Master Plan format, draft a letter of intent and issue an RFP to solicit consultants for the update. The commission also scheduled a workshop on Sept. 13 from 9–11 a.m. EST.
Council members said the pause will let the Master Plan process guide the scope and sequencing of larger projects and future capital planning.
