Council: WUI ordinance drafted; map update delayed by fires
Staff said the Wildland-Urban Interface ordinance has been drafted but the supporting map is not yet complete because recent fires changed local fuels; the state knows the city is working on the update and has indicated willingness to cooperate.

Staff told the council the city has drafted a Wildland-Urban Interface ordinance but cannot finalize it until the WUI map is updated to reflect fuels lost in recent fires. “They know that we've got the ordinance drafted. We're just waiting for the map to be, updated given a lot of our fuels were burned up already,” a council speaker said.
