Larimer explores CCAP waitlist as state funding for child care falls
County staff told commissioners CCAP spending was underspent in FY25'26 by about $2.2M and that a projected 9.4% allocation cut will likely force a move from a program freeze toward a waitlist; staff estimated 60 days to implement and said communications and reprocessing of cases are required.

Shannon Reap presented the semiannual fiscal update and highlighted the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). She said the FY25'26 CCAP allocation was $9,000,000 with expenditures of $6,700,000 (an underspend of $2.2 million) and that the Colorado Department of Early Childhood reduced its appropriation, producing an anticipated allocation decrease of about 9.4% for FY26'27.
