Library director requests $100,000 to replace failing self-check machines

Lisa (library) told commissioners a class of self-check machines that serve 9 of 12 branches is no longer supported by the vendor, and that breakdowns will remain unresolved without replacement. “We have a $100,000 capital request because the current round of self check machines that we have in our buildings are no longer being maintained by the company,” she said, noting the kiosks handle around 25% of circulation systemwide and nearly 40% at the busiest branch.
