Trappe council introduces refuse-placement ordinance; public hearing set for Oct. 1
The council introduced Ordinance 6-2025 to amend Section 13.6 of the town code to regulate placement of refuse and waste receptacles; the measure passed first reading by a 4–1 vote (Commissioner Brian Schmidt opposed) and a public hearing is scheduled Oct. 1, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.

On Sept. 3, 2025, the Trappe Town Council introduced Ordinance 6-2025, an amendment to Section 13.6 of the Trappe Town Code to establish rules on where residents and businesses may place refuse and other waste receptacles for collection. President Newnam read the ordinance; Commissioner Rose Potter moved to introduce it and Commissioner Walter Chase seconded.
