Wright Family Center director reports programs, flags condensation problem

Wright Family Center Director Traci Bruns reviewed the center’s January report for the Dieterich Village Board, saying facility financials, usage and memberships remain under review as programming shifts into spring. "The youth basketball league season will be wrapping up soon, but there will be volleyball camps and kickboxing classes starting," Bruns said, and she noted upcoming community events in March including a job fair hosted by the Dieterich Business Association and a trivia night hosted by the Dieterich Community Education Foundation.

Bruns also updated the board on a persistent condensation issue affecting multiple parts of the facility. She said outside consultants AKRA and Farnsworth are working to diagnose the cause; Farnsworth used a thermal camera and "showed cold spots where the condensation could be coming from," Bruns reported. The board was told a full report from Farnsworth will be provided to the village when available.

Board members did not take formal action on the report, but the diagnostic findings could lead to budget or repair discussions at a future meeting. The Wright Family Center serves local recreation and community education functions, and any extended closure or major repair would affect scheduled programs and memberships. The board did not set a date for receiving Farnsworth’s full report.
