Mark Gallegos (inspection and consumer services division) notified commissioners that the department will propose inflationary fee increases for the egg and weights-and-measures programs for FY27, generally rounded to the nearest dollar and ranging between about 2.5% and 5.2%. He said the primary cost drivers are rising personnel expenses, insurance and OIT costs and vehicle expenses; absent adjustments, programs risk lacking resources to meet statutory obligations such as licensing and scale calibrations.
