Gage County board approves 8-month moratorium on data-center permits after public concern
After multiple residents urged a pause on new projects, the Gage County Board approved an eight-month moratorium on data-center facility permits with the option to extend and separately scheduled a public hearing to consider an 18-month moratorium.

The Gage County Board of Supervisors voted Aug. 5 to place an eight-month moratorium on data-center facility permit applications, with an option to extend if needed. Supervisor Terry Jurgens moved the moratorium and Supervisor Rex Adams seconded; the procedural call for the question carried 6-1, and the final vote on the motion was 5-2 with Supervisors Rick Clabaugh and Emily Haxby voting no.
