County fire and development staff flag hydrant, pond and Article 10 stormwater requirements across DRC projects

Fire and Development Services staff told the DRC that projects must address hydrant placement (300-foot requirement), consider converting dry ponds to wet ponds for dry-hydrants, and satisfy Article 10 stormwater-management rules and geotechnical reporting during formal submittal.

Across multiple agenda items, county fire and development staff raised consistent technical requirements for new construction. Amanda Bauman (Fire) advised that projects outside the water main will often need a wet pond and a dry hydrant and noted a hydrant must be located within 300 feet; she offered to provide NFPA minimum-volume guidance and referenced a 50-year drought survey for pond conversion. "We still have to have a hydrant within 300 feet of that location," she said.
