City introduces new communications director and associate

The City of Alamo formally introduced two new communications staff during the April 21 board meeting. The mayor presented Nina as the city's new communications director, citing her "more than 13 years of experience in visual storytelling" and education including a master's in screenwriting. Nina told the commission, "I am grateful, thank you for the trust that has been placed in me, confident in stepping into this new role as the communications director, because I care about the department, but especially I care about the city."

The mayor also introduced Desiree Villanueva as the city's communications associate. The mayor read Desiree's qualifications, noting she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and is currently pursuing a master's degree in communication. After her introduction Desiree said she was "very grateful for this opportunity" and that she looks forward to covering city events and representing Alamo.

The mayor and commissioners congratulated both staff members and asked them to continue work on community engagement and city events, including the upcoming watermelon festival and other public programs. The introductions were part of a broader round of staff recognitions during the meeting.
