Terry Porter asked the board for permission to convert part of a 24-by-60 metal barn into living space for his daughter. Board members reminded the applicant that any conversion must meet building-code and septic requirements, and discussed alternatives including deeding off an acre with 100 feet of road frontage or seeking a conditional-use variance tied to a medical need. The building inspector and staff noted inspections and code upgrades would be required before any living unit could be approved.
