The Splendora Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted TASB Local Board Policy FNCE on Aug. 11, 2025, to implement the requirements of House Bill 1481 from the 89th Texas Legislature. The minutes state the policy "prohibits student use of personal communication devices on school property during the instructional day." The motion to approve the district policy was made by Jennifer Stewart and seconded by Kimberly Klepcyk; the vote is recorded as For: 6, Against: 0.
