Council issues 'no objection' resolution for 275-unit Dominium affordable housing application

Council approved Resolution No. 07-2026 to provide 'no objection' for Mesquite Leased Housing Associates II, LP (Dominium) to apply for Non-Competitive 4% Housing Tax Credits for an approximately 275-unit development at or about 21701 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway; vote was 4–2 with two dissenting councilmembers.

The City Council held the required public hearing and approved Resolution No. 07-2026 providing a municipal 'no objection' to Mesquite Leased Housing Associates II, LP’s application (through developer Dominium) to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for non-competitive 4% Housing Tax Credits. Finance Director Ted Chinn explained the procedural role of the council’s hearing and noted the Mesquite Housing Finance Corporation previously approved a bond inducement resolution for up to $73 million in private activity bonds to support the project.
