Staff updated the commission on potential projects for a Transportation Alternatives set-aside grant and the application timeline. The preliminary application period begins in January and closes in mid‑to‑late February; staff told commissioners the closing date is around Feb. 19–21 and said the city has space to prepare applications. Candidates include the Main Street expansion (I‑35 to Firecracker Drive), sidewalk and pedestrian-safety work downtown, shared-use paths on the west side and master planning activities that would support future construction.
