Wellington adopts proclamation policy after contentious public comments
After public comment split over adding pride and bridal months, the board adopted Resolution 32-2026 (4–3) to approve a proclamation policy that includes pride month and bridal month; trustees debated whether proclamations should remain nonpolitical and which observances belong on the town calendar.

Town administrator Patty Garcia presented updates to the board's proclamation policy, including the addition of bridal month and pride month to the list of annual proclamations. Garcia said the policy was updated per prior direction and that the list of possible proclamations is maintained from a national calendar.
