Planning staff told the board that the New York DEC has updated its short environmental assessment form and expanded some Type II exemptions for multifamily housing, and that an interactive map now identifies disadvantaged communities with potential additional exemptions. A county representative offered to hold a two‑hour joint training session for the planning and zoning boards to review the changes and application implications.
