Dylan Schneiderman, the City of Duluth's newly hired data analyst, updated the Mayor and Council on July 27 about the city's AI and data-efficiency work, noting a citywide policy and targeted workflow changes across departments. "A citywide AI policy has been established for safe internal use, with clear data input guidelines, and Staff training is ongoing," Schneiderman said. He added that human oversight remains in place and that no autonomous AI decisions are being made.
