The Horry County Zoning Board of Appeals approved a variance on Jan. 12 to allow construction of a 30-by-50-foot garage at 470 Ally Drive for Horry-Georgetown Tech’s diesel technology center. Staff explained the parcel sits in the Atlantic Business Center PUD, which requires 50-foot side and rear setbacks; the applicant sought relief to locate the new garage 25 feet from the property lines so the facility can remain functional without blocking bay doors or interfering with moving trucks.
