County accepts $58,815 remonumentation grant, authorizes survey contracts
The committee approved the 2026 Remonumentation Grant from Michigan LARA for $58,815 and authorized the county administrator to sign agreements with three survey firms and three peer reviewers to carry out corner remonumentation work.

The Lapeer County Committee of the Whole voted to accept the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Office of Land Survey & Remonumentation award of $58,815 for 2026 remonumentation and corner services. The motion, moved by Commissioner C. Ian Kempf and supported by Commissioner Brad Haggadone, also authorized County Administrator/Controller Moses Sanzo to sign three remonumentation grant agreements with R.A. Outhier, Kennedy Surveying, and Davis Land Surveying and Engineering and peer review agreements with Gary Chalice, Andrew Newland, and Steve Thompson.
