Trappe approves MD Rural Water apprenticeship for water and wastewater operators
The Trappe Town Council voted unanimously March 4 to join the MD Rural Water Association apprenticeship program, a two-year, grant-supported on-the-job training track for water and wastewater operators that covers required coursework.

Patty Shreves, representing the MD Rural Water Association, described an apprenticeship option for the town’s utility workforce. "This program is a 2 year program with on the job training for an apprentice to receive their water operator license," Shreves said, noting grant funding would cover required coursework and some supplemental services.
