County administrator: Navarre Beach Fire Rescue loan request pulled from agenda for legal review

County staff removed a Navarre Beach Fire Rescue District loan request from the commission’s regular agenda after legal review and additional conversations with the fire department, the county administrator said.

"I had discussions with the attorney's office. We found a AG opinion. I talked with the fire chief and decided that, you know, we would do a little more investigation and have more conversations and decide if we want to bring if he want to make another request or not after reviewing that," the county administrator said, explaining that the fire chief agreed not to attend today and the item was pulled.

The administrator did not provide the AG opinion text during the meeting and did not give a timeline for when the board might reconsider a loan request. Commissioners accepted the removal from the agenda and proceeded with the consent agenda.
