During the citizen participation period, several residents urged the council to consider how county planning, moratoria and annexation could affect control over potential industrial uses on the 399th Street corridor. "There are land speculators looking at that land," said Kimberly 'Kim' McBeath, who told the council she had followed recent county planning meetings and found options including a quarry and industrial uses on the table.
