James Place rezoning presented to Georgetown council; applicants propose 96-unit RPC community

Applicants presented a rezoning and RPC concept plan for 21.92 acres on North Bedford Street (James Place) proposing 96 residential units with 35.9% open space; council kept the public record open for 14 days and did not vote on rezoning tonight.

For the record, attorney David Hutt told the Georgetown Town Council the James Place application is the next step after the town’s May 27, 2025 future land use map amendment and seeks an RPC overlay on 21.92 acres on North Bedford Street extended. The applicants proposed a community named James Place with 96 residential units — 51 single-family detached homes, 26 duplexes and 19 townhomes — and 7.85 acres (35.9%) of open space that includes a wet pond for stormwater management and linked walking trails.
