Commission approves $5,800 geology study to move LPA Bridge T-831-2 design forward

To keep the Federal-aid Off-System Bridge Program project on schedule, Doniphan County approved PEC's $5,800 geology investigation for LPA Bridge T-831-2 after Kansas Department of Transportation advised the designer needs geology input to determine foundation type.

Kansas Department of Transportation representative Hugh Bogle told the board that project designers need an approved geology study before selecting a foundation type for LPA Bridge T-831-2, located south of U.S. Highway 36 on Oxide and 195th Road (project 22 C-5400-01 under the Federal-aid Off-System Bridge Program). The board accepted a proposal from PEC for a geology investigation at a cost of $5,800.
