Springdale council approves continued URS Tier 2 public safety contribution pickup
The council unanimously approved continuing to pick up the Tier 2 public safety employee contribution under the Utah Retirement System at a 5.98% rate effective July 1, 2026, and authorized submission of the employer election form to URS.

The Springdale Town Council on June 24 voted to continue the town's employer pickup of Tier 2 public safety employee contributions under the Utah Retirement System (URS). Treasurer Dawn Brecke reviewed URS rules and said contribution rates have increased; the council approved picking up the required member contribution for Tier 2 public safety members for the fiscal year 2026-27 at the rate of 5.98% of eligible compensation, effective July 1, 2026.
