Mesquite updates local codebase to 2024 International Codes
On consent the Mesquite City Council adopted a package of ordinances updating city code chapters to the 2024 editions of multiple International Codes, including the Energy, Residential, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, with penalties up to $2,000.

The council adopted a suite of ordinances updating Mesquite’s City Code to several 2024 International Codes. Ordinances recorded in Ordinance Book No. 137 include updates to the Energy Conservation Code (Ordinance No. 5243), Existing Building Code (5244), Fuel Gas Code (5245), Mechanical Code (5246), Plumbing Code (5247), Property Maintenance Code (5248), Residential Code (5249) and Swimming Pool and Spa Code (5250). Each ordinance carries a stated penalty provision not to exceed $2,000 where applicable.
