Amanda James, NRCS range staff covering Montrose and west-end San Miguel areas, described the agency's two primary program tracks for producers in the region: EQIP (financial and technical assistance for irrigation, seeding, nutrient management and other practices) and CSP (conservation stewardship payment structure for producers already implementing conservation practices). She stressed NRCS can provide both technical planning and cost-share reimbursements, and noted timelines are often 1–2 years for financial assistance.
